I started boxing this summer. I never thought I would fight; it wasn’t really something that interested me but the other night I sparred and I loved it.
I have only been seriously training for the last month or so since the summer but now I am getting addicted. I feel myself getting really involved with the club (especially since they asked me to create a club website).
The more I go, the harder they work us, the fitter I get I can’t help but think that every person should be involved in some kind of physical activity. Why not? I can’t think of one negative aspect to physical activity and if you can find one, please let me know.

I have a full time job, part time business, social life, private life and people having 24 hour access to me via a cell phone makes for a hectic life yet I manage to squeeze in the time to be committed to this activity. It has taken me over a year to kill all of my excuses not to go and now I have ran out of them. Its either I go or I will always be plagued with weight trouble.
I think physical fitness is such an important activity that is over looked in our society. A lot of the people I know work at a desk which consists of sitting all day. They have busy evenings and make “quick” food which probably isn’t the healthiest choice. People are getting bigger. Let me rephrase that, people are getting fatter. I speak from experience.
It’s not hard to pack on 20 pounds in a month, a couple lazed weeks of watching TV and you can find yourself climbing in belt notches. I know the feeling that accompanies a larger belt size. You’re miserable that you put the weight on but the thought of “going on a diet” and all the running just to lose the weight you gained is sometimes unbearable. You think of all the possibilities from the comfort of your couch and before you know it, all of your good intentions are just that – good intentions.
I have always struggled with my weight and I have always been involved in some type of sport. I think my biggest problem isn’t a lack of physical activity but more that I am a glutton. I love food. When I sit to eat a meal I eat and eat and eat and everyone knows that I do so they always make extra. I can’t help myself. I don’t snack or eat much junk food but I gorge at dinner time.
