I received this email today as a FORWARD.
I am proud to be white
Someone finally said it.
How many are actually paying attention to this?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc.
…And then there are just -Americans.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You Call me “White boy,” “Cracker,” “Honkey,” “Whitey,” “Caveman,”
… And that’s OK.
But when I call you Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink
… You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month. ou have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Ma’uled Al-Nabi. You Have Yom Hashoah.
You have the NAACP. And you have BET.
If we had WET(White Entertainment Television) … We’d be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day
… You would call us racists.
If we had White History Month
… We’d be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to “advance” OUR lives .. … We’d be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,
a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that?
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships … You know we’d be racists.
There are over 60 openly-proclaimed Black-only Colleges in the US, yet if there were “White-only Colleges”
… THAT would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, … You would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride … You call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.
But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer who is running from the LAW and posing a threat to ALL of society … You call him a racist.
I am proud. … But, you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?
There is nothing improper about this e-mail.
Let’s see which of you
are proud enough to send it on.
So I think to myself….. isn’t the reason these “races” are/were oppressed is because of the white man? The original sender of this email needs a history lesson.

Oddly enough, the sender makes somewhat of a good point. Slavery and violence based on race was around for thousands of years before the US, or even white people existed. And today, after organized racism has been massively changed in the U.S., slavery continues, but it is as the hands of nationals in countries like Sudan. So, to hate whites because a portion of the United States population needed/needs to get their heads out of their butts is not very logical. Let’s not forget that a lot of American whites like William Wilberforce helped a lot of slaves escape racism and slavery, a white president (Lincoln) was a driving force in ending legalized slavery in America, a lot of American whites were part of the protests that Martin Luther King Jr. organized to defend the rights of black people, and a lot of white Canadians helped a lot of black people get on their feet when they fled from the southern U.S. during the times of slavery.
This, among a whole bunch of other things, leads me to believe that the “white man” has done plenty of good as well as bad, and just because some of the white people are idiots, doesn’t mean that white people should be made to feel like they are supposed to be embarrassed of being white. The email sender is right. People of any other origin are allowed to feel freely proud to be who they are, and so should people that are white. A lot of whites in North America are of Russian descent, or Dutch, or Swiss, etc. and their family didn’t have anything to do at all with any of that stuff, yet they probably get stuck right in with the rest of us.

People who think like this boggle my mind. And people who think he makes a good point boggle my mind. The reason we need black history month is because for centuries the history of african slaves was denied us. The reason we need black history month is because the rest of the year is white history. We have black pride because thanks to slavery, we don’t know what countries we come from. No one gets angry at people celebrating Irish pride, or French pride or whatever. “White” pride has long been used as a rallying cry for racists such as the KKK. Don’t mistake pride in one’s ethnicity as racism. White is not an ethnic group. Black isn’t either, but as I said above, we can’t trace our roots back to a country since white slavers tried to eradicate our past.
Why would whites in America ever need to march for their rights? They have never been in jeopardy. When you make all the rules, when you take away other peoples’ rights, you have no need to fear for your own. Yes, there are predominately black colleges, not “black Only” as you stated. They were founded at a time when blacks COULDN’T go to other colleges. Now they can, and white people can go to predominantly black schools. Keep in mind that most colleges are still mostly white.
I can’t believe the level of ignorance some people live in. Anybody whining about the raw deal they have being white in America is living under serious delusions.
